Tuesday 17th October – **** – Around Felixstowe – Sunny, windy and mild.

What a cracking day for weather, sunny, mild and pretty breezy, I missed a top days windsurfing on the River Stour as our van was in the garage for a service and mot, had the garage on the phone with a long list of things needing doing, they have the van for another day and looks like its going to be very expensive but we have had the van for 15 years driving nearly 160,000 miles she she is worth every penny, just love her! Even if I could have sailed today I am not sure I would have driven to Wrabness s we are so off travelling these days! Usual morning at home, exercising and gardening, then as we had several things to do around Felixstowe before visiting our old friend Mary as it is Tuesday Mag said we could take a picnic to the Grove woods. We set off walking around 12.30 heading down to Felixstowe pier to see the sea which was amazing with the easterly wind producing some great waves set against a brilliant blue sky, mild too! In to a head wind for a short while before turning up Bent Hill, a couple of stops in town before continuing to the woods with several squirrels collecting chestnuts. The onto a bench in Abbey Grove where we stop for lunch in the sun, several dogs wanted to share our picnic, one even nicked a bit of my cheese roll, the owner was ver embaressed! Then onto the dentist in Walton before carrying onto Mary’s for a catch-up with a cuppa and cake:) So with the van in the garage for another day tomorrow it looks like I will miss a day of Storm Bardot but never mind as the wind continues for several days but with loads of rain!
